Pig Feast & Other Things

The pig feast took place yesterday. A large crowd came to eat and enjoy time together. I think I've eaten more pork in the last few days than I can ever recall.  Some people showed up in Celtic outfits for fun which was explained to show that Italian history is more of a melting pot of sorts...as one girl put it, 'there is no such thing as a true Italian'(which was a little disappointing to hear for some reason!LOL) and explained the Celts and their history with Romans many years ago. So they had a re-enactment of sorts, medieval fighting, and then some of the girls who teach lessons at Monticino did some jumps and other horse fare for the crowd.   Today has been much quieter and we have been washing dishes (lots of them), cleaning up the place and later hope to go ride the horses tomorrow, which I am definitely looking forward to!

The butcher chopping some part of a pig, Nevio getting the lining ready, Katharina twisting the sausage & people enjoying the food.

One of the views from Monticino; we are up on a high hill and the view is stunning in every direction.

Medievel re-enactments/fighting.

While you can pretend to be a Celt, the Italian culture is definitely obvious.  We fight then we hug!
